SUNNY DAYS: Dry means a delightful weekend for Alabama, with sunny warm days and clear cool nights. Look for a high in the low 80s tomorrow, followed by mid 80s Sunday. The humidity will stay low, and nights will be cool with early morning lows in the 47-53 degree range.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: For tonight’s high school games, the sky will be clear with temperatures around 70 at kickoff, with 50s likely by the fourth quarter.

Tomorrow, Alabama travels to Oxford to take on the Ole Miss Rebels (5:00 p.m. CDT kickoff). It will be a great evening for football, with a clear sky and a kickoff temperature near 80 degrees, falling into the upper 60s during the second half. Auburn will host the Florida Gators at Jordan-Hare Stadium at 6:00 p.m. CDT… clear weather is the story with temperatures falling from near 74 at kickoff into the low 60s by the final whistle. UAB is on the road at Tulsa for a 7:00 p.m. CDT kickoff. The sky will be clear with upper 70s at kickoff, and mid 60s by the fourth quarter.

SHRMIP FESTIVAL: What a great weekend for the big Shrimp Festival down at Gulf Shores this weekend. Look for a sun filled sky each day with highs in the low 80s.

NEXT WEEK: While Monday will stay dry, we will bring in a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday as a cold front passes through the state. We might see a strong storm or two, but the chance of severe weather looks low. Then, the coolest air so far this season arrives by Wednesday and Thursday. We will struggle to reach the low 60s Wednesday, and lows in the 35-40 degree range look likely early Thursday with frost likely.

TROPICS: We will watch the disturbance over the western Caribbean… doesn’t seem to be moving much today. We have to wonder if it will be pulled north early next week in response to the big upper trough over the eastern U.S. We will keep an eye on it, but for the system is disorganized.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.

FINE FALL WEATHER: Gotta love it… sunny pleasant days and clear cool nights will headline our forecast through Sunday. Highs in the mid to upper 70s today, followed by low 80s Sunday as a warming trend begins; look for early morning lows in the 47-53 degree range.

GULF SHORES SHRIMP FESTIVAL: Huge crowds will flock to the Alabama Gulf Coast this weekend, and down there the weather will be picture perfect as well with a sunny sky each day along with a high in the low 80s.

NEXT WEEK: The weather Monday will be warm and dry, but a cold front will move through on Tuesday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Then, the coolest air so far this season will blow in here by Wednesday as we struggle to reach the mid 60s with a cool north breeze. Still looks like we will have potential for frost early Thursday with a low in the mid to upper 30s over the northern half of the state.

TROPICS: A disturbance northeast of the Bahamas has some chance of becoming a tropical depression in coming days, but it will move north/northeast over the open Atlantic and is no threat to land. And, thunderstorms are clustered over the far western Caribbean, but that should move into Central America before developing.
