Stormy Weather Continues Tomorrow; Then Drier
**No Weather Xtreme video this afternoon due to the active storms we are dealing with**
For updates on the ongoing weather situation, scroll down…
TOMORROW: We will maintain a good chance of showers and thunderstorms across Alabama tomorrow, as a cold front and upper trough approach. Like today, some of the storms could be strong to severe with potential for hail and gusty winds. And, like today, the rain won’t fall all day, but when storms do come they will be capable of producing heavy rain. Additional rain amounts of 1 inch are likely, with isolated heavier amounts. The high will be in the low 80s with only a limited amount of sunshine.
WEDNESDAY: The 12Z model runs are faster, and now bring in drier air during the day Wednesday with falling dew points. This means any lingering showers should end very early Wednesday, with the sky becoming partly sunny with a fresh northwest breeze and lower humidity levels. The afternoon high should be near 80.
THURSDAY/FRIDAY: These two days will offer a good supply of sunshine, low humidity, and cool mornings for May. The low early Thursday and Friday will be in the low 50s, but some of the cooler pockets across North and Central Alabama should reach the upper 40s.
WEEKEND PEEK: The latest model data from this morning brings moist air back into Alabama over the weekend, and with the approach of a short wave from the west, we will need to mention a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday. Not a total wash-out, but no doubt we will see some rain at times over the weekend. Expect highs in the 77 to 81 degree range.
