All watches and warnings have been allowed to expire across our part of the state. Things are finally winding down and the worst of the weather has now pushed over into Georgia. The rest of the night will be calm and things begin to clear out. There are few light showers to the south of Birmingham but those will continue to move east tonight.

It was a very busy weather day across Alabama, but most of the state dodged a bullet. Very little severe weather was reported. We did have that large tornado move out of East Mississippi in to Pickens County, where it did cause a bit of damage. The NWS will be out surveying all storm reports tomorrow and determining what damage was caused by tornadoes and damaging winds. There was also a tornado reported to the east of Montgomery, near the town of Loachapoka just to the west for Auburn.

Other areas in Walker and Winston Counties saw damage too.

The weather returns to very nice and spring-like for Friday. Most locations should see ample sunshine and afternoon highs will be in lower 70s.
