Several Storms Impacting, About to Impact Alabama

UPDATE AT 651 PM
Strong indications of a tornado now near Millport, It will move toward Kennedy. Be in safe shelter now.

Hail to the size of baseball may occur.

Trees are down near Millport.

This storm will be moving into Fayette County shortly. We want our friends in Fayette County from Belk to Newtonville including Fayette to go ahead and move to safe shelter. No mobile homes. No vehicles. Be in a well built home or building or tornado shelter.

As expected, numerous severe thunderstorms are crossing the state line into Alabama from Mississippi.

A tornado warning is in effect for parts of Pickens and Lamar Counties. There have been photographs of a tornado from this storm. The tornado is now across US-82 north of Ethelsville and will move toward Millport and Kennedy. Large hail will fall in Millport shortly. This storm is cycling and could produce another tornado at any time.

Pickens County EMA is confirming tornado touchdown.

The warned storm near Smithville has produced golfball sized hail in Amory. This storm will impact northwestern Marion County, northwest of Hamilton.

Another severe storm near Fulton MS will impact extreme NW Marion and Franklin Counties as well.

The storm entering Kemper County MS will impact northern Sumter County between 715-730 p.m.

A tornado continues for Launderdale and Limestone Counties as well in North Alabama.

LATE NOTE ON THE WATCH
Three counties have been added to the tornado watch: Elmore, Lowndes and Montgomery till 1:00 AM CDT.

The watch continues for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Marengo, Marion, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston Coutnies in Central Alabama till 1:00 AM CDT.
