Thursday Midday Nowcast For Alabama

A mostly cloudy sky currently across the state of Alabama, with a few breaks in the northeast corner of the state, and over a few counties in the west-central part of the state. Much of the rainfall at this time is located along the Gulf Coast and up into the southern-most counties of the state. There are a few showers over Greene, Hale, Sumter, and Marengo counties in western part of the state, with a few more located over Lauderdale and Limestone counties in north Alabama.

SEVERE WEATHER: Severe storms are not expected across the state today. There are a couple of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in effect across the nation, and they are for a few counties in extreme western Mississippi and eastern Louisiana.

TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE STATE: At 11:00 AM, temperatures across the state range from the upper 50s to the middle 60s. Here are the readings for some cities across the state:

REST OF TODAY & TONIGHT: With an upper-level low centered west of Alabama, we will be cloudy and cool with occasional showers through tonight. Daytime highs will not get out of the 60s today.

TOMORROW: It will be another mostly cloudy to cloudy day across the state, as a cold air damming pattern will bring a cooler airmass into the eastern counties of Alabama. We will continue to have periods of light rain, with additional rain totals from now through tomorrow night close to 1/2 inch for the northern-half of the state, with closer to 1 inch for the southern-half of the state.
