An almost cloudless sky is the headliner on a beautiful day across the state of Alabama. Just a few high clouds are sliding across the state on a northwesterly flow aloft as we find ourselves on the front side of building ridge which has its axis over Mississippi.

Temperatures are approaching 70F and will top out in the lower and middle 70s.

MORE NICE WEATHER AHEAD: Skies will be mostly clear through tomorrow as high pressure builds over the Southeast ahead of a big upper level low rotates over the southwestern United States. Partly cloudy skies will prevail Tuesday and Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the middle 70s today and tomorrow and near 80F Tuesday and Wednesday as the last vestiges of a bit of an easterly wedge relaxes.

NEXT RAIN CHANCES: As the upper low finally gets pushed out to the northeast by an encroaching upper level trough off the Pacific Northwest coast. A few showers and storms will gradually settle into the state on Thursday. Showers will remain in the forecast on Friday, but will diminish on Saturday. Temperatures will be warm into the weekend.

HONDA INDY GRAND PRIX OF ALABAMA: The big event is coming up at the Barber Motorsports Park April 22-24… Great news!! The latest runs of the GFS and European show that the rain will be out of here by Friday morning leading to great weather for racng. Get ticket information here.
