No Rain Through The Weekend

| June 7, 2016 @ 3:10 pm

COOLER TONIGHT: A cold front is passing through North Alabama late afternoon in dry fashion, and will bring cooler nights and lower humidity to the state through Thursday morning. Temperatures will drop to near 60 degrees early tomorrow and Thursday morning, with 50s likely for cooler spots. Tomorrow will feature sunshine in full supply with a high in the mid 80s. It will be the nicest day of the week.

Thursday will be sunny with a high in the upper 80s.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Heat levels rise as an upper ridge begins to build. Look for low 90s Friday, and mid 90s Saturday and Sunday. Some communities could see upper 90s this weekend. And, still no risk of afternoon showers thanks to the warm air aloft associated with the upper ridge. Lots of sunshine both days.

NEXT WEEK: The upper ridge weakens slightly, and we could see a few isolated showers Monday and Tuesday, but the latest global model runs still keep our weather pretty dry on these two days with highs in the low 90s. Scattered showers and storms should be a little more likely late in the week. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

TROPICS: Colin is now a “post tropical” system as it gains latitude in the Atlantic and races off to the northeast.

The rest of the Atlantic basin is quiet.

AT THE BEACH: Mostly sunny days, fair nights on the coast from Gulf Shores to Panama City Beach through the weekend with few, if any showers. Highs in the 80s on the immediate coast; mid 90s are likely inland by the weekend. See a very detailed Gulf Coast forecast here.
