A Mess Across the Metro

Traffic is a mess all across the Birmingham Metro this afternoon thanks to a severe storm that rolled through ove rthe past hour. Here is the Google Map showing traffic at 550 p.m.

Hoover Fire is now helping on a mutual aid call with Rocky Ridge FD on a structure fire at Children’s South off Acton Road. Lightning apparently caused the fire. Power is out in that vicinity.

A tree is down in Chelsea in Cahaba Valley Trace.

The warning for Shelby County has expired and is not being reissued, but any areas Over the Mountain through Shelby County have trees and power lines down with power outages and numerous wrecks. Be very careful if you are out.
