New Warnings: Coosa/Chambers

The NWS has issued two new severe thunderstorm warnings:

…For Chambers till 5:15 PM CDT

…For Coosa till 5:15 PM CDT

Winds of 60 mph and hail to the size of quarters are likely with the line of storms as they drop southward.

The following counties have been dropped from the severe thunderstorm watch: Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, Jefferson, Pickens, St. Clair and Tuscaloosa.

The severe thunderstorm watch continues for Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, Sumter, Talladega and Tallapoosa till 9:00 PM CDT.

There have been several reports of trees down and power outages in areas affected by the storms this afternoon.
