Leeds/Moody Wildfire

Here is an update on the Leeds/Moody wildfire from the Alabama Forestry Commission:

“Approximately 30 residential structures and 15 commercial structures are threatened at this time. No damage reported but smoke is becoming a problem. Fire departments are staged to protect structures right now. The Alabama Forestry Commission has 3 bulldozers and six people on the fire attempting to construct containment lines. No evacuations at this time. In the event that is necessary they will be conducted by local law enforcement and fire departments.

Please stay out of the area.”

In addition to the large wildfire along I-20 in the Leeds/Moody area, three new fires have been reported this afternoon by the Alabama Forestry Commission…

*Jefferson County – 1351 Cummings Lane, Adamsville

*Blount County – 215 Highway, 75 (South of Arab in Northern Blount County.)

*Shelby County – 2355 Rock School Road, Westover

No homes are threatened in these fires as far as we know…
