WeatherBrains 563: Keep Your Pants On!

| November 2, 2016 @ 5:45 am

WeatherBrains Episode 563 is now online (November 1, 2016). If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you!

Guest information typically goes here, but for tonight we are guest-less, so you are stuck with the WeatherBrains gang and whatever topics they bring to the digital mahogany table. Plus the episode is being recorded on Tuesday night, not the typical Monday night. There was a gasoline pipeline explosion and fire in Central Alabama on Halloween, so our moderator assisted with our on-air coverage of the event, so we moved the show to tonight.

Other discussions in this weekly podcast include topics like:

  • Extremes: 98 at McAllen, TX, and 18 at Saranac Lake, NY
  • Tropical Atlantic is quiet for now
  • Severe weather risk areas pretty small next three days
  • Drought in California and Southeast US
  • Pattern shift appears likely next week
  • Astronomy Outlook with Tony Rice
  • and more!

Our email bag officer is continuing to handle the incoming messages from our listeners.

From The Weather Center:

WeatherBrains 101: As October slips into the rearview mirror, we are getting close to the start of meteorological winter. And with winter will come a varied of hazards. One of those hazards is glaze which can create extremely dangerous black ice situations for motorists. So in this edition of WeatherBrains 101, we take a look at glaze and the conditions surrounding its formation.

Listener SurveyListener Surveys: Okay, we continue to drive this topic into the ground, but we really do like to hear from you. Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill out the Listener Survey. The survey takes just a minute or two to complete and provides us with an opportunity to learn where you are and hear your thoughts and comments on the show. Click here to take the survey.
