Winter Storm Warning Extended Farther Into West Alabama

| January 6, 2017 @ 10:35 am

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has extended the Winter Storm Warning into Greene, Marengo, and Sumter counties. All of the counties under the Winter Storm Warning will be in the warning until 9:00 AM CST on Saturday morning.

We are already getting several reports of roads starting to get slick in the western parts of Central Alabama, with several motor vehicle accidents occurring within the last hour in Sumter County.

If you are in the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa areas, I would advise for you to make your way home or to a place to where you’ll be warm and have food. Travel around these area will start to deteriorate soon.
