Is This January? It Doesn’t Feel Like It At Midday

| January 12, 2017 @ 10:55 am

Skies across much of Central Alabama are mostly cloudy, with the extreme southern parts of the area experiencing some sunshine. Only a few light showers are showing up on radar at this time. One shower is currently located just west of Jasper, and another is located near Vernon and just south of Sulligent. A few sprinkles can be seen also over portions of Calhoun, Cleburne, and Talladega counties.

Skies will stay mostly cloudy throughout the day for the northern half of the area, and a passing shower or two will be possible, even though most will remain dry. For the southern half of Central Alabama, skies will be partly cloudy. Afternoon highs will be in the lower to upper 70s throughout the area. The risk for any showers start to retreat to the extreme northern parts of Central Alabama for the evening, and skies will be partly cloudy for the rest. Overnight lows will be in the lower to upper 50s.
