BRING ON THE WEEKEND: Sure looks like most of Alabama will remain dry for the next seven days. Sure, there might be a few isolated showers over West Alabama tonight and tomorrow (we have some on radar now), but the overall pattern suggests very little dynamic lift, and very limited moisture. Highs will remain generally in the low 80s, with lows in the low 60s through at least the middle part of next week.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Some big games on Saturday, but first we will discuss football weather tonight. There will be a small risk of a shower over the west part of the state, otherwise, dry with pleasant temperatures. At most stadiums the temperature should be in the mid 70s for the 7:30 kick off and dropping into the 60s during the second half. Alabama is in Fayetteville to play Arkansas Saturday with an 11:30 kick off. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible, which means a very small chance, and the high temperature during the game should be near 78. Alabama State plays UAB in Birmingham at 3:00 p.m. It should be near 78 at kick off and about 70 at the final whistle with dry conditions. Jacksonville State will be in Chattanooga for a 6:00 p.m. kick off. Dry, pleasant weather with 75 at kick off and about 64 at the final whistle. Finally, at 6:45 p.m., the LSU Tigers will be in Auburn for a key game. About 75 at kick off and 65 in the fourth quarter with only a small risk of a shower.

TROPICS: Not much happening; the tropical wave moving into the Caribbean remains disorganized, and tropical storm formation is not expected through early next week. I still expect one more pulse around the beginning of October.

TWITTER: Don’t forget, you can follow our news and weather updates from ABC 33/40 on Twitter here. And, my personal Twitter feed is here if you want to keep up with my adventures in life. Twitter is a short messaging service you can receive via the web, cell phone, or IM.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.

My next Weather Xtreme video will be posted by 7:00 a.m. Monday… Brian Peters will have the videos over the weekend. Again, thanks to all of my friends in Little Rock for a great time last night. Enjoy the weekend!
