Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Clouds, Warm, Isolated Showers

| February 11, 2017 @ 1:50 pm

What a difference a day makes when it comes to Alabama weather. After the freezing temperatures yesterday morning, this morning, we were 20-30 degrees warmer across the state thanks to a southerly flow that developed over the state yesterday. The southerly flow has brought more moisture and warmer weather and that is why we are seeing more clouds today.

It will remain mainly cloudy with scattered light showers across the Alabama landscape. A lot of the rain we are expecting will come from misty conditions, but don’t be surprised to encounter pockets of very light rain the rest of today.

Temperature are well into the 60s this afternoon and even 70s are showing up.

For tonight, we will maintain the cloudy and warm conditions with areas of fog and light rain a possibility. Temperatures will only settle into the lower 60s overnight.

FOR OUR SUNDAY: The day will feature cloudy, wet, and warm conditions. Southerly flow will continue to transport moisture north, and despite the clouds and scattered rain showers, we are going to see highs in the lower 70s. This is all ahead of the a frontal boundary that will move through the state Sunday night.
