A Record Day Across Central Alabama

| February 24, 2017 @ 7:00 pm

A ridge of high pressure over Alabama on Friday, southerly winds and a strong late winter sun conspired to bring record high temperatures to Alabama. Every major reporting station in the state except for Mobile established new record highs for the date. Here are the records and old records:

Muscle Shoals 81/78
Huntsville 81/77
Anniston 81/78
Birmingham 81/78
Tuscaloosa 81/78
Montgomery 83/80
Dothan 81/79

Even Evergreen got in on the act, establish a new high temperature record, but observations there only go back to 1998.

Hard to imagine we will be in the 20s in many locations across North and Central Alabama by Sunday morning.
