Midday Check Of The Weather Across North/Central Alabama

| March 22, 2017 @ 12:24 pm

The cold front that moved through the area during the day and evening hours on Tuesday has moved over the southern parts of the state. Most of the North/Central Alabama area is dry at this point with a mix of sun and clouds over the northern half, with mainly clear skies to the south.

On the radar, a few showers are moving through the eastern parts of the area, mainly over Heflin, Fruithurst, and Edwardsville. These are currently moving off to the southeast and will be out of the state within the next hour or so.

Temperatures at the noon hour are running in the mid 50s in the northern parts of the area, to the upper 70s in the southern parts of Central Alabama. The warm spot is currently Eufaula at 78º, while the cool spot being Huntsville at 54º.

For the rest of today, skies will be generally mostly clear across the southern half of the area, with more of a mix of sun and clouds across the north. Most of the rain activity has moved out of the area, and what remains over east Alabama will be out of the state very soon. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 60s to the lower 80s across North/Central Alabama from north to south. Tonight will be dry and rather nice across the area, with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. Lows tonight will fall into the lower 40s to the mid 50s from north to south.

Tomorrow will feature intervals of sun, and I believe that I will remove the risk for any rain for the day. Afternoon highs will be in the 60s and 70s across the area. The evening will feature partly to mostly cloudy skies, but will remain dry. Lows will drop into the mid 40s to the mid 50s.
