Strong Storms Will Soon Be Affecting Lauderdale & Colbert Counties

At 1:32 PM, a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Tishomingo moving northeast at 55 mph. Pea size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms. Therefore a Significant Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of Lauderdale and Colbert counties until 2:00PM.

Locations impacted include Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Cherokee, Waterloo, Malone, Allsboro, Wright and Riverton.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike several miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
