Gusty Winds From An Outflow Boundary Approaching Lauderdale, Limestone, Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Morgan & Lawrence Counties

| March 30, 2017 @ 9:05 am

At 853 AM CDT, an eastward moving outflow boundary from decaying shower activity has resulted in gusty winds across portions of northwest Alabama. As this boundary pushes over the region, winds will increase into the 20 to 30 mph range with a few higher gusts.

Therefore NWS Huntsville has issued a Significant Weather Advisory until 9:45AM for Eastern Lauderdale, Central Limestone, Southeastern Colbert, Western Cullman, Eastern Franklin, Western Morgan and Lawrence Counties.

Winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with outflow boundary.

Locations impacted include… Decatur, Florence, Athens, Hartselle, Muscle Shoals, Moulton, Priceville, Trinity, Falkville and Rogersville.

Strong gusty winds will be capable of knocking down small tree limbs along with other small unsecured items. Damage from this feature has already occurred back in eastern parts of Mississippi.
