Northeast Mississippi Storm Weakens, No Longer Severe

| April 21, 2017 @ 8:44 pm

The severe thunderstorm over Prentiss County, MS has weakened and is no longer severe.

A funnel cloud was sighted near Booneville though at 810 p.m.

The storm will begin affecting southwestern Colbert and western Franklin Counties soon. Expect very heavy rain, intense lightning and gusty winds. There is a good chance of small hail as well.

It looks like Marion County will remain high and dry. You will see LOTS of lightning to the north though.

The cell on the Franklin/Lawrence County line has rapidly developed into a storm. It will pass north of Moulton and go toward Town Creek.
