Alabama Weather Update: Storms Pushing East

A line of storms extends from the Chattanooga area to near Cullman to just west of Birmingham to Eutaw and Livingston.

The storms moving into Birmingham have dangerous lightning, strong gusty winds, torrential rain and the potential for small hail.

There is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Cullman County. Hail to 1.25 inches and 70 mph winds are possible. The storm has a history of rotation and several people have reported a lowering a rotation.

A severe thunderstorm watch continues until 9 p.m. for much of the western half of Alabama.
