Mississippi Tornado Watch

| April 30, 2017 @ 7:26 am

The SPC has issued a tornado watch for the southern three fourths of Mississippi that goes until 3 p.m.

A watch may be required for parts of Alabama soon.

ORIGINAL POST
While I was finishing the Weather Xtreme Video, the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) sent a discussion concerning their plans for a new watch. The new watch, potentially a tornado watch, will likely come right up to the western side of the state of Alabama. I do not expect it to include any counties in Alabama for now. That will probably change as we get to late morning and early afternoon as the western two-thirds of Alabama is in a slight risk area.

At this writing, the only watch in effect was a tornado watch over the Lower Mississippi River Valley.

Be sure to check back often for later updates on the developing severe weather situation for Alabama.
