Sunny and Very Warm Saturday

| June 10, 2017 @ 12:13 pm

This is one of the best weekends we have had in a while; the sky is full of sunshine and there is no rain falling. Again today, we are seeing a few of those fair weather cumulus clouds drifting across the Alabama and we are noticing that our winds are gradually shifting out of the southeast; that will bring changes in the weather in the coming days.

It is a rather warm day as we are all well into the 80s this afternoon. Thankfully humidity levels remain lower than normal so it is not too uncomfortable out there.

It will be another very nice and calm night, with most locations settling down into those soothing 60s.

A SHOWER FOR SUNDAY?: Tomorrow will be another very nice day with more sun than clouds. We are once again going to see highs return to the mid and upper 80s, with perhaps a 90 degree reading or two showing up on the maps. With our flow coming out of the southeast, humidity levels will be on the rise. There could be an isolated shower tomorrow afternoon/evening, but I really think these should be confined to southern portions of the state, south of the Interstate 85 and U.S. 80 corridors.

RAIN BACK IN THE FORECAST: The chance for rain returns for the entire state for the new work week. We will see near normal temperature values, mid to upper 80s in the afternoon, while nights will be muggy and mild with upper 60s to lower 70s. With the higher humidity levels, we will have the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms each and everyday with most of the activity occurring during the afternoon and evening hours. Rain chances will generally be in the 30-50% range and rainfall totals over the next seven days looks to be 1-2 inch range for much of Alabama.
