Lans has had a varied career in the National Weather Service including serving as the Meteorologist-in-Charge of the Atlanta, GA, office and heading the Olympic Weather Support Team for the 1996 Summer Olympics. Lans now works in the National Severe Storms Laboratory, Norman, OK.
