Flooding Across the Montgomery Region

| June 18, 2017 @ 9:10 am

Very heavy rain this morning his causing flooding across parts of Montgomery, Prattville, Wetumpka and surrounding areas.

Doppler radar indicates that over four inches of rain has fallen in many areas, especially along and west of I-65 and across southern parts of the City of Montgomery.

There are numerous reports of flooding coming in now from Autauga and Montgomery counties. Here are a few reports:

…Water of AL-14 between Simmons Road and County Road 29 in Autauga County
…US 82 covered by water north of the Autauga County Airport.
…County Road 47 closed in Autauga County near the Autauga County Airport
…1 mile portion of US-82 west of Prattville closed due to flash flooding

Here is a photo from our very own Ryan Stinnett showing flooding on roads and in yards in the Cloverdale section of Montgomery.

Remember and heed the familiar adage: Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Getting there on time isn’t worth risking your life!!! Especially on Father’s Day.
