Cindy Meandering Over The Central Gulf

| June 20, 2017 @ 4:00 pm

For the past few hours, Cindy has nearly been stationary, but a slow progression to the northwest should start back up later this evening, and then a turn to the north-northwest to the north is expected on Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. The center is expected to move onshore over the southeastern Texas coastline on Thursday.

Storm surge and winds will not be the big story with Cindy, it will be the rainfall amounts that will take place over the next few days. Drenching rainfall has already occurred over parts of Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi during the day today. There is a chance that we could get up to 2-3 inches up in the Birmingham area, with totals of 10-12 inches possible along the Gulf Coast, especially for the Mobile, Dauphin Island, and back ove to the coast of Mississippi.
