| July 24, 2017 @ 1:15 pm

Radar at 115 pm

Showers and storms are widespread this afternoon from Winston County through Jefferson and St. Clair Counties eastward through Cherokee and Cleburne Counties.

The strongest storms at 110 p.m. are…

…over northern Walker and southern Winston between Arley and Nauvoo
…over southwestern Blount County south of The Colony
…near Center Point in northeastern Jefferson County
…north of Jacksonville in northern Calhoun County
…over northeastern Shelby County and western Talladega County

A new storm is over I-20 and I-459 west of Leeds.

All of the activity has tremendous lightning and thunder. Rain is heavy, up to 1.5 inches per hour in isolated spots. Winds could gust to 40 mph as well.

Can’t rule out a storm or two going severe as well with the potential for stronger winds.

Everything is moving to the east southeast slowly.
