Eastern Etowah County in northeastern Alabama…
Northeastern St. Clair County in central Alabama…
Cleburne County in east central Alabama…
Cherokee County in northeastern Alabama…
* Until 1215 AM CDT
* At 1012 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor
drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.
One to two inches of rain has already fallen in spots and another
inch is possible.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Gadsden, Anniston, Oxford, Jacksonville, Rainbow City, Piedmont,
Hokes Bluff, Centre, Heflin, Cedar Bluff, Little River Canyon
National Preserve, Forney, West End-Cobb Town, Centre Municipal
Airport, Cobb Town, Fort McClellan, Saks, Glencoe, Weaver and
Ragland.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
