Birmingham’s Longest 100F Streak

On this date in 2007, the high at the Birmingham Airport reached 103F setting a record for the date. It was the seventh consecutive day that the mercury had reached the century mark.

That streak would stretch to ten, the longest such streak in Birmingham history.

The mercury would hit 100F or higher on 14 days that month, also a record.

The hottest readings were on the 15th and 23rd when it was 105F. Birmingham’s all time hottest high is 107F on July 29. 1930.

Other records set on August 13, 2007 across North and Central Alabama included 105F at Tuscaloosa, 104F at Montgomery, 102F at Anniston, 105F at Pinson and 103F at Birmingham. It was 102F at Calera. Other record highs from this blazingly hot day across the state included 103F at Decatur, 104F at Huntsville and 105F at Muscle Shoals. It was 106F in Demopolis.
