A gravity wave is causing a rapid drop in pressure at the back edge of the rain area over Alabama tonight. The winds will blow into the low pressure, from the east or northeast to the west, and may gust above 60 mph. A high wind warning is in effect from the NWS. Numerous trees down and power outages have been reported. Don’t go outdoors nor drive until this passes by. It should reach downtown soon, and all of the metro area over the next hour. Waiting for the wind here in Trussville. The wind may build up slowly over 30 minutes as the pressure drops to the west.
