Another storm was near Vernon in Lamar County.

To the west, storms over Mississippi appear to have weakened a bit.

A new severe thunderstorm warning has just been issued for Attala and Winston Counties in Central Mississippi.

A severe thunderstorm warning continues for Lowdnes County MS for a severe storm that is approaching Columbus. This storm will reach northern Pickens and southern Lamar Counties around 10:15 p.m.

Noxubee and Winston County have another 10 minutes left in their tornado warning. This storm appears to be weakening. It woill reach northern Pickens County after 11 p.m., if it holds together.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 3 a.m. for West Central Alabama. But if the weakening trends continue, perhaps we will escape without significant severe weather tonight.
