Norman OK Day 2
Day 2 in Norman was Monday, and I got to meet with a lot of fascinating people and see most of the National Weather Center. The highlights were the tour of Storm Prediction Center (SPC) by director Joe Schaeffer, and lunch at “The Flying Cow” restaurant with Chuck Doswell.
Pictures below. Today is a little quieter, until I give my seminar to the people from NSSL, SPC, and others at 330 pm. For more info on why I am here and pictures from Sunday, click here.

(Desk where convective outlooks SLGT/MDT/HIGH risks are issued)

These are great! I love the pictures of the workstations where the SPC products are issued. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!

That is awesome, man. I think if I got to go there I’d be more excited than I would going to Disneyworld.
Also love the Flying Cow Cafe!

Glad you got to go and do all that stuff. Also cool that some people still draw maps by hand like that. I thought that was just about a lost art.

Interesting photos. They draw the synoptic analysis by hand as a check on the computer version which can smooth things out too much.

Dr. Tim,
If you like Mexican Food and happen to be on the other end of OKC from the NSSL, check out “Dos Gobachos” (Two White Guys) in Edmond. Some of the best Steak Fajita Nachos I’ve ever eaten!
