A line of showers and storms continues moving eastward across West and Northwest Alabama this evening.
It extends from Meridian to east of Macon in Mississippi then into Alabama…to near Fayette…to Haleyville to Florence.
A new tornado warning has been issued for Fayette, Walker, Winston [AL] till 6:45 PM CDT …* AT 554 PM CDT…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETECTED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO NEAR ELDRIDGE…MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.
That is the best velocity couplet of the day according to the NWS…approaching Eldridge…take cover now from Bazemore to Eldridge and Kansas…
Another tornado warning continues for northern Fayette and southeastern Marion Counties. Dangerous storms are northeast of Fayette.
The line is translating east at 20 mph while individual cells move northeast at 40 mph.
Additional rain and storms are moving north northeastward over parts of Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Perry, Dallas and Wilcox Counties.
These cells will affect the greater Birmingham area in an hour.
