Mid-day Update for Central Alabama

November 21, 2009, 11:49 am | Brian Peters | Forecast Discussion

The rain continues to advance to the east and northeast as a result of the surface low in the Gulf just south of Abbeville on the Central Louisiana coast. Here’s a look at the radar composite for the Southeast around 11:45 am.

And the sun was still shining over a large portion of Central Alabama as we see on the latest visible satellite image. We can thank the very dry layer from the ground up to about 20,000 feet for helping to keep us dry for much of the day.

Rain is still in the forecast as the surface low advances eastward along the Central Gulf Coast. Rain and clouds should increase across Central Alabama during the afternoon and evening hours from the southwest.

In the meantime, enjoy a lovely Fall day once again.

We have the SEYFL championship game tonight in Morris around 6 pm—are we going to get wet or maybe we will be okay?
    Thanks and Go Hoover Raiders!!

I think you will probably be okay but I would suggest have some rain gear handy just in case. The atmosphere is very dry at the moment, but it can moisten very fast.
