Line of showers (actually a band of showers, rain, drizzle) has already passed through much of North Alabama with cooler air tailgating.

At 11:20 am, the main band (about 50 miles wide) was from Clay, Cleburne and Randolph County in East Alabama southwestward to near Montgomery, Monroeville and Mobile. Heaviest rain was west and north of Mobile.

Patches of light rain and drizzle lag behind.

Practically all precipitation has ended from about Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Gadsden northward except possibly some patches of light drizzle that is hard to detect on radar

Cooler air moving in, the “cold” front now near Birmingham. Temperatures:

46 Muscle Shoals
48 Columbus, Miss.

Another significant rain event this week late Tuesday night and all day Wednesday. Lots of rain, heavy at times.

The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has posted a slight risk of severe weather for Wednesday in these areas:

Extreme Southeast Alabama
Southeast half of Georgia
Almost all of Florida
East part of both Carolinas.
