As you can tell from the radar, it is quite stormy across Alabama tonight.
Lots of intense rainfall that has produced severe flash flooding in North Alabama. A flash flood emergency is in effect in Huntsville. Flooding was reported to a depth of 1.5 feet in the Hartselle WalMart. Travel is strongly discouraged across parts of North Alabama tonight including the Huntsville area.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 12:30 a.m. CST for Sumter, Greene and Hale Counties in West Central Alabama. These storms will move into Bibb and Perry Counties shortly and eventually into Shelby and Chilton.
A new severe thunderstorm warning has just been issued until 1245 a.m. CST for parts of Bibb, Greene, Hale, Perry, Sumter, Tuscaloosa [AL] till 12:45 AM CST.

Strong storms along the Tuscaloosa/Jefferson County line and over Central Tuscaloosa county will bring torrential rains, frequent lightning and wind gusts to over 45 mph the Birmingham Metro area.
New severe thunderstorm warning for Jefferson, Blount and St. Clair.

Strong storms from Cullman up into Marshall county will affect Cullman, northern Blount, Marshall and DeKalb counties over the next hour.
Strong storms from Carbon Hill up to Addison will affect northern Walker, eastern Winston and into Cullman Counties during the next hour.
