**No Weather Xtreme video this afternoon**

We will return to the regular video production schedule tomorrow… just too much going on today. Let me say I really had a blast down in Montgomery this morning in the StormChaser; we had around 50,000 views of that stream during the morning. Simply amazing. Thanks also to John Brown and Terry Sasser of our Skywatcher team for their live video streams today down south. Very helpful.

TONIGHT/TOMORROW: The snow will be out of Alabama by 7:00 p.m. Bridge icing will be very problematic tonight and early tomorrow morning, along with roads across higher terrain. Let’s be very, very careful out there. Looks like we will clear tonight, and tomorrow will be a partly sunny day.

SUNDAY/MONDAY: An Alberta Clipper coming down in the northern stream will bring a chance of snow to Alabama late Sunday night into Monday morning. Here is the 18Z NAM, valid at 6:00 a.m. local time Monday:

Clippers rarely have much moisture to work with, but they provide intense upward atmospheric motion, and can squeeze out more snow than you might think. Sure seems like we have a chance of getting one inch of snow over the northern half of the state in the general time frame from 9:00 p.m. Sunday through 9:00 a.m. Sunday. With sub-freezing temperatures expected early Monday, that could be a challenging morning drive. Needless to say, we have not spent too much time dealing with this situation, but that will be handled in great detail over the weekend.

So, just be aware we might have some relatively minor winter weather issues late Sunday night and early Monday morning. In the wake of that system, the rest of next week looks dry with a slow warming trend.

LIVE CHAT: We are now offering a real time chat here on the blog… open blog comments will stay in place, of course, but this will allow a more immediate method of communication for weather geeks. We do have moderators posted over there, so be sure and play nice. Members of our weather team will be there from time to time to answer questions; we will post those times we are available here on the blog.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.

Brian Peters will have the next Weather Xtreme video here tomorrow morning… have a great weekend!
