Quite a severe weather day across Alabama. Here are some additional notes.

* 2:54 pm…Alabaster…people trapped in their vehicles along highway 31 near Alternative School.

* 3 PM…US 31 closed near Shelby Baptist Hospital because of flooding.

* Numerous roads flooded in and around Sylacauga.

* Jasper area…one foot of standing water along parts of Old US 78.

* Shelby County Highway 42 closed between County Roads 37 and 47, flooding.

* Talladega County…numerous flood reports on area roadways in and around the cith of Talladega.

* Two updated rain totals from 33/40 Skywatchers: 3.23 inches Bessemer and 3.98 Inverness.

RADAR TRENDS
West side of Alabama getting somewhat of a break from the worst storms. Powerful thunderstorms however in Talladega and Clay County.
