True surface based instability remains confined to Southwest Alabama… where a tornado warning is in effect for Washington County. Here is the current surface based CAPE:

While a few storms could easily produce hail over West Alabama over the next few hours, the most significant tornado threat will be in that general region from Demopolis south to Mobile, with the storms can become truly surface based.

Rain continues to fall over much of East Alabama, where serious flooding issues continue in spots, especially across counties like Talladega and Clay.

The good news is that tonight won’t be as wet as last night, but we will still deal with occasional showers and storms….
