Radar/SKYCAM Update

| August 12, 2007 @ 4:13 pm | Reply

A quick note on system outages here in our weather office at ABC 33/40….

*ABC 33/40 Pinpoint Doppler Radar: Still waiting on the needed components to get the system back on the air. A major C-Band Weather Radar installation is a complicated monster… you can’t run down to the local hardware store to get the parts to repair it. Our engineers were hoping to have us back up and running on Friday, but they are still waiting on one more shipment. We hope it returns this week.

Use our live stream and you can see NEXRAD data on our software… click on the live stream button on the top right part of the main ABC 33/40 weather page.

*SKYCAMS: The Jasper SKYCAM is back up and running; Jeff Wyatt, the ABC 33/40 web guru, should have it back online tomorrow. Still no word on the network outage at the Inverness site… all other SKYCAMs are operating normally as far as I know.
