7 o’clock Visit With Dean
He is still a major hurricane but he has fallen from a Category 5 at landfall to a Category 3 over land. It is relatively rare for a hurricane to come ashore as a category 5. By the time the eye reaches land, nearly half the overall circulation already on land and and the friction tends to weaken the storm. Dean was still growing stronger as he invaded land. He will continue to weaken but should still be a hurricane all the way across
