An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

NO RAIN FOR A WHILE: A very dry airmass has settled into the Deep South, meaning little change of significant rain for the next seven days. We are forecasting sunny warm days and fair pleasant nights, with highs around 90, and lows mostly in the 60s. We should note many of the cooler spots will wind up in the 50s again early tomorrow morning.

FRIDAY FRONT: A cold front will slip through Alabama Friday evening, and could trigger a few showers, but they should be widely spaced, and many Alabama communities will stay dry. Then, more dry drops in here for the weekend. No real big temperature change for the weekend, with highs around 90, and lows in the 60s. The dry weather should continue into next week.

TROPICS: Igor is a major hurricane, near category five strength in the Central Atlantic. This one should recurve into the North Atlantic in coming days, and is no threat to the U.S. mainland. However, the tiny island of Bermuda will be close to the path of this dangerous storm, so our friends there are watching with great interest.

Julia, the tropical storm coming up behind Igor, also looks like a storm that will recurve before reaching the U.S. And, while Julia is expected to become a hurricane in the short term, late this week outflow from Igor will begin to impact the system with some weakening expected. NHC weakens Julia down to a tropical storm by the weekend.

KARL? The wave over the Central Caribbean should become Tropical Storm Karl in coming days. It is expected to move across the Yucatan Peninsula during the mid-week period, then making a final landfall along the northern Mexican coast, well south of Brownsville, Texas, late this week or early in the weekend, most likely as a hurricane.

None of these systems will bother our Gulf Coast (MS/AL/NW FL).
