An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

ANOTHER CHILLY MORNING: Some 5:00 a.m. temperatures across Alabama include 34 at Russellville, 36 at Haleyville, Cullman, Valley Head and Concord (just west of Birmingham), 39 at Gadsden, 40 at Anniston, and 42 at Birmingham. J.B. will run down the list of lows a little later this morning, but no doubt folks are scraping frost off the windshield across the colder pockets of North and Central Alabama for the second morning in a row.

REST OF THE WEEK: A gradual warming trend headlines the forecast… look for a high in the low 70s today, mid to upper 70s tomorrow, followed by low 80s on Thursday and Friday. No moisture means no clouds and no rain, and mornings will remain cool. We note that today is the 8th consecutive day with no rain; the last rain came on September 27, and Birmingham picked up only 0.21″ that day.

THE WEEKEND: The GFS is a little warmer on the 00Z run, suggest highs in the mid 80s here over the weekend… we figure most folks will see a high somewhere between 81 and 85, but the humidity will remain low and nights cool with lows in the 50s. The sky will stay sunny.

NEXT WEEK: There will be some increase in moisture next week, and a few isolated showers could show up by mid-week, but nothing to suggest anything beneficial or widespread through mid-month on the latest global model runs.

TROPICS: A disturbance over the Northeast Caribbean has a 50/50 chance of becoming a tropical depression, based on NHC products, but if this happens it will turn out to the open Atlantic and is no threat to land.

FIRE ALERT: We note that today is the 8th consecutive day with no rain; the last rain came on September 27, and Birmingham picked up only 0.21″ that day. Needless to say, be very careful if you are doing any outdoor burning under these conditions.
