Late Afternoon Notes…

*Local area emergencies have been declared in Marshall and DeKalb Counties due to ice on bridges and dangerous travel.

*All roads atop Lookout Mountain in DeKalb and Etowah Counties have been closed due to ice.

*Icing reported on both the southbound and northbound lanes of AL hwy 77 at the Coosa River bridge.

*Ice and hazardous road conditions on Cottaquilla rd in Jacksonville.

*Apparently icing on 759 around the Gadsden Mall area exits. Multiple wrecks a little bit ago.

*Birmingham had warmed to 33 degrees… temperatures are above freezing from Birmingham south and west.

*Icy bridges are still a problem over Northeast Alabama… especially Marshall, DeKalb, Jackson, Madison, Etowah, and Cherkoee Counties.
