Jeff Lyons, WFIE-TVOur Guest Panelist is Jeff Lyons. Jeff is the Chief Meteorologist at WFIE-TV, the NBC affiliate in Evansville, IN. He joined the news team there in 1988. He is a Hoosier from Indiana University and the proud father of three. The Indiana University graduate currently anchors the weathercasts for 14 News at 5, 6 and 10. Jeff earned his National Weather Association seal of approval in 1991 and the American Meteorological Society seal of approval and certification as a meteorologist in 1993.

Jason SamenowAnd coming to us from Washington, DC, is our guest WeatherBrains, Jason Samenow Before graduating from high school, tonight’s Guest WeatherBrain interned for NBC4 chief meteorologist Bob Ryan. At the University of Virginia, he earned a degree in environmental science, focusing in atmospheric science. He went on to earn a master’s degree in atmospheric science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000. From 2000 to September, 2010, he worked as a climate change analyst for the federal government, monitoring, analyzing and communicating the science of climate change. He founded CapitalWeather.com in early 2004, the first professional weather blog on the Internet which was absorbed by the Post in 2008. He is a past chairman of the D.C. Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and a Weather and Society Integrated Studies Fellow. He lives with his wife, Deborah, in Washington, DC, where he serves as the Editor of the Weather Page for the Washington Post and as the Chief of the Capital Weather Gang.

And we have the pleasure of a special student guest tonight, Laura Radford. Laura is from Athens, AL. She is in the 3rd semester of Masters program in Geography at the University of Alabama. Her research is focusing on hurricane warning graphics and their interpretation. She hopes to work in Emergency Management one day.
