Tornado Watch Coming for Mississippi

| February 28, 2011 @ 5:42 am | 2 Replies

Storms are developing rapidly over northern and western Mississippi, and the Storm Prediction Center expects to issue a tornado watch soon for our neighbor to the west. The watch *might* include a few counties in northwestern Alabama if the NWS offices elect to add them; that’s something we can only report when it happens (we don’t issue watches or warnings).

Stay with us all day! This could be a long-duration severe weather episode. Once it gets into northwest Alabama this morning around 8-9 AM, it may not end until late afternoon or early evening in southeastern Alabama.
