Chilean Earthquake Shakes Dad Out of Bed

The earthquake, centered about 70 miles northwest of Santiago, struck at 12:22 p.m. central time, and was felt strongly throughout the city, including my father’s 12th floor apartment overlooking Santiago. The Chilean earthquakes were not the only shaking today. A strong earthquake also shook eastern Indonesia Saturday, sending panicked residents running out of their homes.
