  1. Julie says:

Are you folks getting any sleep at all? :(

  2. Bama Mom says:

Just wanted to take time to thank you guys. I saw this and called my daughter in Tuscaloosa to take cover. You guys saved her life as a large tree demolished her bedroom. I know in all the death and destruction it is hard to see the silver lining but thought I would let you know about the life you were able to save.

  3. Johambo says:

I get chills 3 days later an will get chills 50 years from now watching that terror on video. A day we all will never forget. Great job by you and Jason to be all over that mess. No telling how many lives you saved. Prayers are with everyone affected. We are Alabama and we will recover. God Bless

  4. Kelly says:

Is there video available for the coverage as it came into Birmingham? I was in my safe place and wasn’t watching (thanks to James and everyone at 33/40!)

  5. Jared says:

I’m not Judy. I’m 2,500 miles away but that is home… It is just heartbreaking

  6. Jared says:

    Sorry… I meant Julie*

  7. Rob says:

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has been able to find abc3340 coverage of the Bham tornado similar to this one? Or maybe an extended video that doesn’t cut off in the middle of what’s happening?

  8. Mike Dbl Oak says:

You guys should consider killing the audio on this one. Nasty language being used including our Lord’s name in vain. God bless you all for your incredible coverage and damage assesment.

  9. Steph says:

    Mike Dbl Oak:
This is James and Jason’s coverage of the Tuscaloosa event not the storm chasers.

  10. Hypotenuse says:

Tornado songs and a James Spann reference from music critic Ann Powers, who was in Tuscaloosa.

  11. Jay Fuller says:

Thank you reposting the video ; I’ve watched the Cullman tornado coverage and am interested in seeing the others. I am only now beginning to see what happened in the rest of the state. (I’m in Gulf Shores enjoying some power for a change…)

  12. Chad says:

I watched this vid twice and I get chills every time

  13. Chad says:

You would expect this in a movie not in real life

  14. hollyn says:

Would love to see the live coverage just after this video….when tornado moved from tuscaloosa to brookwood to birmingham. Can that portion of the coverage be posted?

  15. AlyssaC says:

i was in New Lexington when this happened. T^hat’s a couple miles north of the Northside community just outside Fayette. there was a tornado that went through that area and I haven’t been able to find any videos from the weather coverage when it was passing us. anyone know where i can get a complete video or a website where u can watch the full days weather coverage? from abc3340 ofcourse. it had to be James Spann.
its just over a year later and i still think about that day. as most of us do. i didnt lose anyone close that day but my boyfriend lost a friend that was in holt at the time. on cresent ridge road. his friends mother was also lost. just letting everyone know yall are still in our prayers. God Bless.
