FROST ADVISORY: No, I don’t expect the frost to be widespread or enough to really harm plants in most spots, but it is interesting to note the NWS has issued a frost advisory for the northeast counties of Alabama for late tonight as temperatures there could reach the mid to upper 30s at daybreak tomorrow. Most places will wind up somewhere between 37 and 43, much like this morning. The sky will stay clear, and the wind will stay light.

THE DAYS AHEAD: Dry weather continues through the weekend with a slow day to day warming trend. We reach the mid 70s tomorrow, and upper 70s Friday. The weekend will be warm and dry, with ample sunshine Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 80s.

NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: Looks like next week be dry and very warm thanks to an upper ridge; we might flirt with the 90 degree mark by Tuesday or Wednesday. Much like summer. Later, the ridge breaks down and there is sign of cooler air invading the Southeast U.S. in the May 10-12 period, followed by another warm-up. And, the good news is that there is still no sign of any severe weather threat for Alabama showing up over the next 15 days.
