WeatherBrains 101: In Memory of Miss Molly

| June 14, 2011 @ 1:45 am | 3 Replies

WeatherBrains Episode 281 is now online (June 13, 2011). If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you!

Tonight’s Guest WeatherBrain is a Weather Specialist for Global Regina (rej-eye-na) in Canada. She grew up in a small town near Windsor, Ontario. She was always interested in weather, but if you had asked her about the Wizard Of Oz, she was more likely to have been singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” than studying the twister. A love of music led to piano lessons at the age of six, she started singing at age 13 and performing in local Musical Theatre productions. She studied Musical Theatre at the University of Windsor and later performed at Deerhurst Resort (where Shania Twain got her start).

Ready for a new challenge, Jaclyn moved into the world of media. She started working with Rogers TV in Barrie as the host of “Restaurantours” and was Co-Host of “Daytime” before discovering her true passion is weather. She is currently a second year student with Mississippi State University in the Broadcast Meteorology program, and just completed a Weather Internship at City TV Toronto.

She enjoys running, cooking and gardening in her spare time. So our WeatherBrain for tonight is Jaclyn Whittal.

Other discussions in this weekly podcast include topics like:

  • Terrible news concerning JB’s Miss Molly and JB, too
  • Hot in the South
  • Some cooler weather across the northern tier
  • Triple digit highs in Texas
  • Atlantic Basin quiet at the moment
  • 1000 days without a landfalling hurricane
  • and more!
  • Kevin summarizes the email coming to us from our listeners. Heat burst has gotten a lot of email

    From The Weather Center:

WeatherBrains 101: An acronym you probably have heard from time to time is NSSL. So what does it stand for, where is it, and what does it do? 101 looks into it and brings you all the details.
